How I Set Up My 2017 Bullet Journal

Hello everyone! This year I’ve decided to take up bullet journaling–it’s something I’ve been eyeing for a long time (hello, getting organized! hello, beautiful notebooks!) and wanting to get into, and the new semester is as good of a time as any (since I finished my moleskine planner in 2016). So far, it’s been a fun (and a little creative!) process. I try to keep my journal minimal–clean and professional–but of course the ideas are endless! Washis, stickers, the list goes on and on.

I want to show you guys how a newbie (me!) set up her first bullet journal. Already made some mistakes (for example some of the pages are… heh, out of order), but that’s all part of the fun and I figured if I was too careful with it, this process would seem daunting and chore-like rather than something I enjoy doing daily. So here we go: how I set up my 2017 bullet journal! (more…)

My Makeup Essentials

IMG_4049A little bit of a different post this week but in conjunction with my youtube video on my makeup essentials :)

I started wearing makeup at around the end of high school, and since my mom never wore any, I was completely perplexed on what to buy/get–is a finishing powder absolutely necessary for wearing makeup? What exactly does eyeliner do? If I just put on this peach colored blush, will I look weird? Can I substitute foundation with BB cream? Do I really need seven different types of brushes? (more…)

Influenster Vox Box Review | July 2015

Hi Everyone! Something different today. Recently I’ve been selected by Influenster to review a variety of products via their Vox Box program. While I received these products complementary for testing purposes, all opinions are my own.

influenster vox box review

I’m very excited to get the chance to try these products out, so here’s what I’ve found:

Influsium 23 Moisture Replenisher

influenster vox box infusium 23Never thought I’d get a chance to use a leave-in conditioner, but hey, I got to, and quite liked it! I have to say that the smell of this is a bit… odd. At first, that is. I got used to it rather quickly and I ended up really liking the smell. This moisture replenisher is really easy to apply and stays in your hair pretty much all day. I’m not sure how well this actually “repairs my hair” as my hair doesn’t need a whole ton of repairing, but it’s awesome to use and doesn’t make my hair feel greasy or anything. A win for me!

Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Cleansing Cloths

The smell for this product is TERRIBLE. (I don’t know, I just love smelling things before I try them…) dickinson's original witch hazelBut as a makeup remover wipe, it’s definitely a win. One wipe over my face pretty much gets rid of all the makeup I have on (though I don’t put on that much). This is definitely one product I’d keep using again and again.

Blue Diamond Sriracha Almonds

IMG_0635Believe it or not, this is actually quite a healthy snack. With only 2 grams of sugar, you can totally justify eating this (for you health nuts!!). This is not really what I would buy on a normal basis… for one, I hateeee almonds–but this changed my mind about almonds haha. The Sriracha definitely elevated the taste of the almonds for me. I shared this little bag of almonds with my family and we finished it within 10 minutes. We may be kind of obsessed, yeah.

Definitely get this if you’re a spicy foods kind of person. It makes almonds–dare I say–taste good.

my fave. I don’t have my own product picture yet as I haven’t redeemed my coupon… but THIS! IS! GREAT!

OH MY GOSH INSTANT LOVE. This product actually didn’t come inside my box since it is chocolatey and it’s HOT these days, but I did get a coupon for a free bag of this stuff. I tried this for the first time earlier this year, and it’s AMAZING. It’s basically chocolate slices with pieces of nuts or pumpkin seeds in them (I chose the pumpkin seeds one and I LOVED IT). The only downside about this product is that it is a tad pricey. Otherwise, I would totally buy it all the time.

SinfulColors Nail Polish in Real Teal

IMG_0626My sister described this color as a “puke turquoise” and I kind of have to say I agree. This is far, far from my favorite color and though it DID grow on me after looking at it for a while, I also removed it after just half a day cause it looked awful (I will post a picture for you to judge yourself). Moreover, it was a waste of my time to put on… it was so sheer that it took 4 coats to make it opaque, and that took a while, obviously. I’m sure it’s good for something though (ombre nails…? I don’t know), but the color is just.. nuh uh. I would probably not buy this. Ever. Thankfully, though, this is the only SUPER disappointing product in this box.

Vaseline Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturizer

IMG_0627Last but not least, I got this awesome spray moisturizer. I’m actually not quite sure how to apply this on my face, since spraying it on my hands and then applying makes it a tad too greasy for me… but I LOVED spraying this on my legs and arms. It smells amazing, applies smoothly, and feels great. I love how it’s a spray moisturizer because you can get a pretty light coat. You don’t even really have to rub it in (though I do anyways just for even coverage). This is definitely a win for me, and I will be using this on a regular basis and probably purchasing more when I run out.

Alright, that’s it! What interesting things have you guys tried this summer?

Disclaimer… one more time! I received these products free for testing/reviewing purposes. However, all opinions are my own!

Home Studio Recording Equipment for UNDER $300

home studio

When I got my recording equipment and started a small home studio back in 2014, I got a lot of questions on my Youtube Channel and Twitter on my recording setup and where I got my equipment. I did make a video back then, but it was never posted on my channel because it was never edited, hehe. Since my next video is taking a while to finish, I figured that now is a good time as ever to finally film, edit, and upload a little “tour” and explanation of my home studio!

Because I cannot possibly include everything in a ten minutes, I’ve written this blog post to supplement what I said and showed in my video.

DISCLAIMER: though I am not sponsored by Amazon or any of these audio companies, I do get a small commission if you choose to purchase a microphone or equipment through these links :)

As mentioned in my video, there are four parts to a very BASIC home studio. Yes, basic, because I’m a student, and I have a very tight budget.

At the very, VERY least, you need to have:

  • A microphone
  • Phantom Power/Audio Interface (If you have a condenser Microphone)
  • Mic equipment (Shock mount, cables, a pop filter (if you sing) and a mic stand, if that does not come with your mic!)
  • Audio editing software & laptop

The good thing is, it’s not as daunting as you might think! I got my entire set up for under $300 (prices breakdown below).
